I’m a great fan of good nutrition, no amount of exercise can compete with a truly on point eating regime. My all time favourite meal is my morning 32oz jar of Green Goodness. It sits on my work desk high and proud, gaining speculative glances and intrigued statements such as “What the hell is that sh*t”, or “wow what’s in that and what’s the recipe? So today I thought I would share my favourite recipe for the summer months as I chug-a-lug away.
I don’t do specific measurements the below is approximate, I’m one of those chuck it in and see what happens smoothie creators.
Handful of fresh Mint 2 Medjool Dates
1-2 cups fresh spinach (or leafy dark greens) 1-2 frozen bananas
2-3 stalks of Celery ½ zuchinni
1 – 2 cups liquid – I use homemade almond milk which is super creamy, but you can use coconut water, water or other milk alternatives.
I also add my favourite supplements
Blend until smooth, pour into a 32 oz jar and enjoy.
Now a few things you may notice when you first start having these smoothies regularly, in the beginning you will clean out (yep major poop alert)!! This is normal and a great sign that your digestive system is being “broomed” out with all the extra fibre. You may bloat and have gas initially, this too is normal and will pass. After a few days of consistency you will notice your energy levels are increasing, your brain function is far more acute and you are getting compliments on glowing skin and glowing eyes!
It is a fantastic way to up your vegie intake, get your daily dose of vitamins and minerals and as a result of the ingredients being blended they are easier on the digestive system with a higher rate of absorbability.
