Hospital event to highlight Mental Health Week

The City of Logan’s floral emblem will be recreated as part of Mental Health Week 2019.

The emblem is the Banksia integrifolia, also known as the Coast Banksia or Honeysuckle Oak.

Five patients from the Metro South Mental Health and Addiction Services will create a sculpture resembling the emblem using chicken wire and flowers.

Logan’s floral emblem will be recreated as part of a Logan Hospital event for Mental Health Week 2019.

The sculpture will be the centrepiece of Mental Health Week activities at Logan Hospital on Thursday, October 10.

The Logan Hospital Takes Time for Mental Health event, from 10am to 2pm is open to the public and also includes activities such as tai chi, music and a drumming circle.

Council officers will join health care providers and well-being organisation representatives at the hospital entrance to provide information on well-being programs such as Live Well Logan and Move it Logan.

Information about mental well-being and how to understand mental illness and access services also will be available.

The hospital is on Loganlea Rd, Meadowbrook.
