Beenleigh Historical Village & Museum

Beenleigh Historical Village & Museum (BHV&M), located at 205 Main Street Beenleigh QLD 4207, takes you on a journey of years gone by. This collection of our Early Australian heritage is organised as a village and dedicated to preserving the cultural legacy of the old Beenleigh region for current and future generations.

A popular tourist destination for school students, families & seniors tours, the Beenleigh Historical Village features early Australia memorabilia, collections of items and even entire buildings which have been lovingly preserved and restored.  We’re also a favourite location for car and bike clubs, and special functions such as weddings.

There are twenty heritage buildings filled with original items used by those who lived in the 1860s and onward. Our extensive collection has been either donated to the Village or were the original products/items belonging in the homes we have on site.

You can see the old St. George Anglican Church, The Beenleigh Council Chambers, Willkie’s General Store, the old Dodge fire engines, family homes, the Loganholme One Teacher School, the Post Office and much more.

You might like to hire an MP3 Player to take a self-guided tour of the Village. Enjoy listening to the fascinating history of each of the buildings situated at the Village. The history is narrated by actors from the Beenleigh Theatre Group playing the role of our pioneering settlers. A project sponsored by a Regional Arts Development Fund grant.

Self-guided tours are also available so you can take  your own time, and enjoy the many original displays and unique collections at Beenleigh Historical Village & Museum.

Normally, the Village is open seven days from 9.00am to 3.00pm except on  Good Friday, Easter Sunday, and ANZAC Day. Over the Christmas – New Year period the Village will be closed on the 24 December and will re-open on the first working day in January. However, the Village will be open this ANZAC Day, 25th April 2019, from 6.30am to 2.30pm hosted by Spirits of the Red Sand
